Gulftex Scuba Products is also manufacturing a line of Delrin Safety / Gap Spools, again machined from a solid delrin rod. Our spools have slightly thicker end-plates to prevent deformation from long-term use.

Plus, we don't see much benefit from overloading the spool with line. Our spools come in 3 different sizes and are supplied with 60', 80', or 120' of #24 braided nylon cave-line. Click here to see more "specs".

We also help keep things affordable by shipping each spool with a high-quality brass double-end bolt snap. If you need a stainless clip, they are available for an additional $6.00. Bare spools are available by special request.

These tough spools are available only from Gulftex Scuba Products, or participating dive stores for the not-so-ridiculous price of only $24.00 each.

Update 4/30/07: We're all out of Delrin Spools! And with the market-flood of cheap injection-molded spools (at $10.00 a piece), I'm not sure we'll be making more anytime soon. Our costs have gone up on both raw materials and machine-time, and pricing would have to be more like $35.00 each to make it worthwhile. And since the introduction of cheap IM spools, the demand for these quality spools has just about died. Comments welcome.

And if you'd like to purchase any of the IM spools (at $10.00 each), let me know as I can supply you with those in the meantime. Or if you prefer, I can also provide you with machined (100' and 150') Delrin spools manufactured by Salvo.
