Introducing the NEW Photon-Torpedo LED backup light!

Ever since the introduction of the original PT in 2004, divers have continually asked for an AFFORDABLE, yet HIGH-POWERED LED option in premium backup lights. Until now, we've always met that question with the answer that we WOULD NOT put an LED light on the market until we could deliver a highly-focused, bright white light, suitable for use as a cave-diver's backup/signaling light.

While other companies rushed to the market with inferior products, we held out for the latest technology that has made the new Photon-Torpedo LED possible. And now, we are proud to offer this incredible new light to you serious/demanding divers at the great price of only $147.50 + shipping. PLUS, the PT-LED Upgrade module is available now for only $55.40 + shipping. And as nothing irks me more than INFLATED shipping charges, shipping will start at $4.60 and WILL NOT EXCEED $10.55 for anything you purchase (domestic shipping only, via US Priority Mail).

So here's a little more about the light:

The physical dimensions are the same as the standard Xenon Photon-Torpedo (so click here to see that info).

The brightness is "bright". It's somewhere between 0 and 100 lumens (there isn't an industry standard for these numbers so I'm not going to "claim" any).

It utilizes a high-flux LED emiter that is in the 3-5 watt range.

The emiter is driven through a voltage regulated circuit to help maintain a constant brightness and low power consumption.

The burn time is PLENTY. After 2-3 hours, I can't visually detect any dimming; maybe YOU can. After 137 hours (5 days, 17 hours) my test light was still bright enough to illuminate gauges. I highly recommend keeping fresh batteries in your backup lights at all times.

Beam spread: Very narrow with soft surrounding light-spill. The random test-light exhibited a ~2.6 degree half-angle of divergence (5-6 degree total spread). The tight focus is achieved by utilizing a polished reflector rather than optics.

We will post photographic comparisons to other lights when we have all the competitor's lights in hand, but you may find such comparisons currently online at some of the technical diving forums. Click here to see a photo comparison with the standard incandescent (Xenon) Photon-Torpedo. Both beams are similar in quality, though the LED version is much "whiter".

Please note that there will be some variance from light to light with regards to color and focus, but all the lights will emit a narrowly focused, bright light (superior in quality to the incandescents).
